GRIPS ON TEXT

My text only has one grip, at the insertion point. Usually they have nine. Can someone tell me how to show all of the grips? I want to use them to stretch the text. I already know how to change the width factor.

Can't be certain from a picture, but text with one grip is usually a bare text object. Multiple grips come with a multitext object.

If that's not your issue, please provide more information. Is this a multitext? What are the values of your GRIPS and MTEXTCOLUMN variables?

Thanks. I may be having a flashback to my microstation days. I could have sworn that I've seen text with three grips on the left, three on the right and three in the middle.

If you change the Justification to Fit, you get two grips.

AutoCAD text grips only manipulate the text box size and position.  You can't stretch or shrink the actual text without changing its properties either globally in the style editor or locally with the properties dialog or the ribbon properties data fields.
