itKiwi Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 I have a little experience using Autocad for one of my former employers. There, we had a set scheme of on-screen line colours which related to the thickness of the lines when printed. I am now doing some freelance draughting. If I am to create new client drawings, to maintain concistency with their existing drawings, how do I know the details of their scheme of colours and line thicknesses. Is this included in the dwg file ? Thanks. Quote
lpseifert Posted February 13, 2009 Posted February 13, 2009 No, it's in the .ctb file. Ask the client for their .ctb file. Quote
JohnM Posted February 14, 2009 Posted February 14, 2009 I have been drawing in AutoCAD for many years and have 20+ clients. I found it best to establish my own setup and not have to worry about 20 different set ups. If your drawings look good 99 % of the time they don’t care. If a client wants me to use their layers dimensions and other items I charge extra for the headache. Quote
itKiwi Posted February 16, 2009 Author Posted February 16, 2009 Thanks to you both, Ipseifert and JohnM. I'll set up my own .ctb file, and see how we go. Quote
