KORBER Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I am using 2009 and I am coming accross a problem when I open up a new drawing through default template file name for QNEW and if I were to save the drawing and try to purge I get the error message on the command line: "PURGE cannot be used on partially opened drawings" After that occurs, when I try to save again I get the error alert message: "One or more objects in this drawing cannot be saved to the specified format. The operation was not completed and no file was created." Now, this problem doesn't occur If I were to open up the same template file through the network with file -> open. The problem only occurs with templates opened up with qnew. Does anyone get the problem, is this just an AutoCAD glitch? Quote
ReMark Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 When did you first begin having this problem and what have you done to troubleshoot it so far? Have you installed all service packs? Quote
KORBER Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 This problem started happening with our qnew template file when we upgraded to 2009 this week from 2005. I have read online that if I use the command "audit", it says that there was 0 errors found and 0 errors were fixed, but for some reason after running that it will let you save the file. Now when I close the same file and re-open it, It will allow me to purge and no error messages pop up - everything is fine. Just so weird. What do you think? Quote
ReMark Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I really cannot come up with a good explanation. A corrupt file? Thanks for up-dating us on your problem. Glad to hear you got it fixed. Quote
KORBER Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 Yeah, I am thinking that might be the case. We have about like 10 different template files here at work and I tried all in the support path for setting qnew and about half of them had the same problem, but the other half worked properly. I don't know what the difference is, all the template files were created back on AutoCAD 2005. So I guess I will chalk this up as an unsolved mystery. Quote
