Text Formatting

Well gang, the anticipated layoffs happened, but thanks to much improved AutoCAD skills acquired by reading in this forum, I was able to land work again quickly at another firm.

I'm still getting the finer points of ACAD down and was surprised to find out some new techniques with this new crew I'm in charge of.

In particular, there were some Text Overrides that looked like this:

 11 SPACES @ 6\S1/8;" = <>

I have to confess I've never seen this before, but wow does it ever solve text formatting issues. I've just scratched the surface with this technique. So my question is where can I find more detailed information on this? I just looked through my ACAD books and they don't even mention this kind of formatting.

the important thing in dimensions is the which will insert the actual distance. You can put whatever text you like in a dimension and providing you use the it will read correctly. I quite often use () to signify a resultant dimension or one you have no control over, such as a bought cabinet's width.

I rarely use stacked text so you'll have to investigate that one yourself.
