geronamo Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 This my first post so I hope Im in the right area, apologies if Im not. Anyway, when I plot my drawing, instead of the drawing coming out about 30 pages of weird characters and computer language come out. Is there a setting I need to change? Any help would be great. Thanks Quote
uddfl Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Welcome to the forum! You've probably done this already, but make sure you've run AUDIT and PURGE before saving the drawing. Also, where is the drawing located? Your computer or the network? Does this happen to other users/other computers? Quote
geronamo Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 No I havent done that I will see if that works. Its saved on the network. We also just had a new printer put in, would I have to change any settings regarding that? Quote

Not sure about that. What kind/model is the plotting device? Quote
geronamo Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 Just tried the audit and purge. No luck there. The model is Ricoh MP C2500. Could you direct me to somewhere I might be able to find out how to set it up correctly? Quote

Strix Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 we had a printer doing that and it turned out to be a virus - check your antivirus is up to date and run a full system scan Quote
dbroada Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 my money is still on the wrong print driver. Its like a human language, if you send your drawing in English and your new printer is expecting French it will print out what it thinks you have said. Could be the printer is expecting PS and you are sending HPLG2. Quote
Galingula Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Any time we get comic book swearing from a printer a printer reboot usually clears things up Quote
sparkyuk Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 We also just had a new printer put in Didnt they check everything was fine before leaving when spending 100's of pounds on a new printer i would have thought they would have installed all the drivers on to all the computers/servers etc as well if not get them back to do it Quote
