malche Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I want to make a section of a model I made in 3dsMax. I opened it in AutoCAD as a 3ds file & as a DWG file, but i didn't succeed to make a section with SLICE tool or with SECTION PLANE tool. I'm not familiar with AutoCAD, but i must have my model in AutoCAD, so Maybe someone can guide me. or - maybe it's not possible because the model is from max....? Thanx Quote

Lazarus Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Maybe it is not the best solution but try this: 1.Explode the model 2.type CONVTOSURFACE -it will convert the 3d faces to surfaces 3.type THICKEN -add a desired value and your model will become a bunch of 3d solids(wich i can't seem to union together) p.s. I think this operations are available in autocad 2007? Quote
