Vitalie Robu
Hello, is there a way, or a LISP, to set the background color of a pattern hatch (for ex.: AR-SAND) to ByLayer or ByBlock? There is this option only for the main color of the pattern hatch, but not for the background. I want to be able to change the background color of a pattern hatch without hatch editing. For example, I have a few copies of the same block with a AR-SAND hatch where the main color is 250 and a predefined background color, and based on their position the type of block is defined. So I want to chose one type of these blocks and change the color of the background. If it would have been a SOLID hatch, that would be easy to do(please see attached screenshot), but it is different for the pattern hatch. Thanks'! Vitalie Robu
Just realized that one workaround to fix it is to get inside the block, remove the background for the pattern hatch (AR-SAND) and apply a second hatch SOLID which will have the option to be changed ByLayer or ByBlock. So therefore there will be 2 hatches inside the block. Let me know if there is a better way. Thanks'! enrili
Here's another method that may be more efficient if you want to change the background color for all blocks of the same type. This method is to use the BLOCKEDIT command to edit a block.

The block will stay the same for all different types, and I want to be able to change the background of the color controlling it outside the block.
