ANDY0871
I have a pretty new computer specked out for autocad mep 2009. We also use Revit 2009. I think it is plenty fast for what we normally do. We're currently working on a very large coordination project. It runs fine for the most part, but when I try to shade it to get a more realistic view from time to time it starts to hang up a little. I've detached certain layers. unloaded others....Does anyone recommend a good way to be able to realistically see the drawing without having to wait so longh while it renders and does whatever else it does that hogs up so much memory? I'm in MEP 2009 and to cut a 'horizontal' section on a particular project...... I'm waiting almost 3 hours for it to generate..... (that's what I call hung up!) Machine is less than a year old (dual quad core 2.4mhz, etc). Quadro FX4600 GPU, 8 gig RAM, etc......
ReMark
What are the specs on this "pretty new computer"? What OS are you running? Are there any Xrefs attached? Have you pared down scalelist? Any unreferenced regapps you can purge? Have you purged the drawing at all? There's probably another six questions I can ask but that's enough for now. No, it isn't. One more. Are you working off a networked computer or a standalone?
