Hey, anyone out there got their hands on the Bonus Pack 2 for 2009 and given it a flogging yet? This is all PDF related and I'm wondering if there are any problems with it in using it to snap to PDFs and plotting out, etc. Initial looks look promising, but are there any gotchyas in there?

Also, any thoughts on if this is a final 'if you can't beat em, join em' resolution by Autodesk wherein they have finally conceeded that DWF isn't going to take over from PDF? Also begs the question as to whether DWF will be one of those long lost formats that go the way of the Dinosaur...

It's one of those 'tempters' to get you into subscription on top of your AutoCAD. If you have a Subscription head into the Subscription Centre and follow the links to the Bonus software...

I have it. You still have to scale up the pdf to match what you are using it for but it does work very well the few times I have tried it.

I'm only new to autocad, so haven't even used the subscription centre yet. If you don't have a subscription, you just can't access this? Although I assume we should be subscibed.

It actually not too bad. You pay a yearly fee and you get your new ACAD every year and extras.

That's right Dink - no subscription no Bonus packs. If you're part of a bigger organization, your IT Guys would most likely have been supplied with a Uasername and Password to access the centre (provided they have also purchased the Subscription with it). They can get it for you to install...

Other than that, you'll probably find it's already included in 2010... By the way, if that turns up in a couple of weeks, you'll have subscription as the upgrades are included as part of the Subscription package.

I thought it would have to be scaled up, but boy oh boy, the mind boggles with what you can do with this!!! I keep PDFs of every issue of a Hard Copy drawing I do - the DWG moves on (I don't keep DWG versions). If I need to revert to an older version, I can bring back a PDF and chuck on a Wipeout or 2, chuck on some new lines and Text and whallah - done deal. Or that Site Plan that the Architect gave you in PDF... Gee if he gives the PDF to me with Layers (because he used Adobe or the Bonus Pack 2) even better...

The ideas will flood in - well done Autodesk (for once)
