Lithium Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 In Modelspace I create hidden lines using a Dashed linetype. At 1"=1'-0" I usually have to set the scale to .5 to get the proper length of dash—so that they look correct. However, when I change to the Layout the dashes are about ten times longer than in Modelspace. What am I doing wrong? Quote
lpseifert Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 This works for me... Msltscale=1 (will display per the Annotation scale) Psltscale=1 (set in each layout) Ltscale=1 (or your preference) Quote

LarsT Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I have the same problem, and those commands made no difference, as the value was already set at 1. The Ltscale command helps, but I have to set it to 0.1, which makes it look weird in model space. The Msltscale command does not work on my computer - perhaps it is the version I am using. What is the meaning of that command? Isn't there another way of setting the line scale in the Layers Property Manager? Thanks for asking this question! Quote

Tell us the name of one dashed line type you are using. It sounds like you might be using iso linetypes. In versions prior to annoscaling it was necessary to adjust the ltscale when moving from MS to PS. In MS you will want to use a number more appropriate to the plot scale. So if you are eventually going to plot at 1/4"=1' then your ltscale might be 48 or 24. Also, are the dashed lines you are having trouble with in an xref or no? Quote
LarsT Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I was using DASHEDX2, because it looked better in model space than HIDDEN or HIDDENX2. The lines are not in an xref - they are lines that I draw myself in model space. The drawing I am currently printing (which is of a bed frame) is at 1/20 scale on 11x17" paper. Most of the drawings I do are of smaller objects, and so there is less of an issue. I haven't used ISO linetypes - are they better? I just noticed that if I set PSLTSCALE to 0, then the lines look the same in paper space as they do in model space. Quote

No Iso lines aren't better, they are scaled differently and can cause display problems like you were seeing. Quote
Lithium Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 I just tried PSLTSCALE = 0 and it makes the dashed lines in the Layout the same as in Modelspace. Thanks, LarsT. I wonder if there are any 'gotchas' in doing that? Quote
