Stephen Shafer Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Hello again, so Ive got this drawing to where I have a 1:1 scale in model space. I am dealing with feet and inches and I am trying to get it to print in various scales so my clients can pick whatever scale they want by looking at it. Now, my understanding was you just take the viewport in the paperspace and blow it up by what you want your scale to be and your done but, when i print the scale is off. Ive tried reading different articles online but im clearly not getting it. Can anyone shed a little light on this before I go totally insane? thanks Quote
Stephen Shafer Posted April 2, 2009 Author Posted April 2, 2009 So, apparently, I am using a decimal unit of measure and trying to get a result in feet and inches? I suppose that decimal is what I am used to drawing in at this point. Is there an easy way to figure this out? Quote
tzframpton Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 type UNITS at the command line and make sure its set to Architectural, so the drawing units will be in feet and inches. Go to Paperspace, and have the Properties box open (Ctrl+1 if its not open). Click once on the viewport edge, go to the Properties box and towards the bottom you can set the scale from the various scale options. But when you print, make sure the Page Setup doesn't have "Fit to page" selected or you'll still be knocking the scale out of wack. Quote
Stephen Shafer Posted April 2, 2009 Author Posted April 2, 2009 Styk, Thanks for the reply. One question. If i dont put it on fit to page or "scale to fit" what do i put it on? Quote
Stephen Shafer Posted April 2, 2009 Author Posted April 2, 2009 A little more info. In my paper space i have an area i use for a title block and a few notes that are consistent with all my work. Sometimes changing the scale forces all but a few things off the page, or it will look like its trying to print everything in a 1"x1" area on the paper. Sometimes its just the title block thats forced off. I am clearly misunderstanding something. What am I missing? Quote
