Trebuchet Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Hello everyone. I'm working on some dynamic blocks, and have been having some problems. I've attached the blocks so you all can play with them. As long as the block is in the West to East configuration, everything works the way it should, but, if I move the arrow (which I'll have to do 1/4 of the time) everything goes wonky. When I try to move the label when the arrow is not pointing East, it doesn't behave. Same with the double arrow block. Anyone have any ideas? I've tried everything I can think of. Thank you so much. Jadeous Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 It seems that it is useing its own UCS refference point. For instance, if we were to say that the dark blue grip is it 0,0,0. You then rotate the block, it rotates ITS own 0,0,0. So when you use the text grip to move the text, it still refferences it own 0,0,0. If you ask it move on the World 45 degree angle, it will move on ITS 45 degree angle according to its own 0,0,0. The reason is works great when in the West East postion is because the blocks 0,0,0 and the Worlds 0,0,0 are alined for the moment. Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Perhaps you could remove the callout from the selection set for the polar stretch all together and just bundle a rotate in with the move. Quote
Trebuchet Posted April 6, 2009 Author Posted April 6, 2009 Thanks for taking a look. I think I may have to take out the polar stretch all together and force users to rotate the block by using a linear stretch instead. While it is not exactly what I wanted as it won't work in 100% of the cases, it seems to be the best option for now. Occasionally the two symbols will not be perfectly in line... I'll have to fiddle some more. Quote
MaxwellEdison Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Welcome to the world of dynamic blocks, seemingly endless possibilities...until you just need them to do that one simple thing. [/cynicism] Quote
