Phirepower Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 I need to use Solidworks in coordination with AutoCAD, and illustrator. Can someone recommend a strong working operating system set up? Thanks in advance Quote
ReMark Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Let the debates begin yet again. XP Pro here until Windows 7 comes out and they release the first service pack. I've no desire to even see Vista let alone have to use it. However, there are others who have reported few if any problems with Vista. I think it may depend more on the computer than anything else. tzframpton Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 XP Pro would be what most people would recommend. Quote
Martini Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Agree with XP Pro I personally had problems with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2009 and Companion with Vista. My Computer Tech claims he called Autodesk and talked to someone and they told him they have been having problems with some versions of AutoCAD working with Vista. But I didn't believe it, although I really dont like Vista anyways so. Quote
Tankman Posted April 6, 2009 Posted April 6, 2009 Stuck like glue to XP Pro SP2, although I do have a couple with XP Pro SP3. One thing I do stay away from are registry cleaners. I believe having '05 and '07 on a couple of desktops this confuses the registry cleaners and wants to change my *.exe AutoCAD files. Not going there again. Quote
