Kuksi Posted April 14 Posted April 14 Hi all, New to the community. I received point files including x y z values. Is there a way to import them in AutoCAD MAP 3D and create this colourful raster tiff file and add contour lines and attribute values of the Z representing the depth? It is needed to create bathymetry lines. P.S I have regular AutoCAD and AutoCAD Map 3D, so either way is an option. P.S 2: I have found here in the community the Point Manager add on, so I managed to import the multiple points but I am stuck here. Quote
BIGAL Posted April 14 Posted April 14 (edited) Welcome aboard. Making contours / surfaces from points you will need say CIV3D, but all is not lost you can do it with "Stringer", "Civil Site Design" or the triangle program by YMG. There may be a later version than this. I have Bricscad pro and it has the Civil surfaces built in. TriangV0.6.7.LSP Edited April 14 by BIGAL Quote
Kuksi Posted April 15 Author Posted April 15 Thanks for the reply! The Triang seems to make sharp lines and edges, rather than smooth contour lines. Unfortunately I do not have the license for Civ3D. I only have Autocad Map3D and regular Autocad. It is a PLM suite, that include Recap, Inventor, Navisworks etc. I am currently trying in QGIS as well, but I thought that there should be an option in Map3D... Quote
SLW210 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 If you could explain more about what you are wanting it would help. I don't deal with point files, usually I get a .csv or .xls file. Does MAP 3D handle point files? I haven't used it in some time. You might look at CADTOOLS Quote
BIGAL Posted April 16 Posted April 16 (edited) @SLW210 the Cadtools looks very impressive, form a Civil Engineers perspective. Edited April 16 by BIGAL Quote
