Discus84 Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Hi, We usually measure using a couple of laser levels and tape. What are some (entry level) tools that could measure into a dxf i.e measure whole perimeter by shooting a series of points. How effective is it compared to traditional method? Our method works OK, it is time consuming though, and usually takes two people. Thanks! Quote
SLW210 Posted May 10 Posted May 10 How much are you willing to spend? I have this on my phone, I have had insurance/remodelling professionals use it on rooms in my house for estimates. https://poly.cam/ https://hozodesign.com/products/meazor3d I do believe most if not all of Hozo tools can use the app and output dxf and other file formats. https://leica-geosystems.com/products/laser-scanners/scanners/leica-blk360-se-essentials Quote
BIGAL Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Having worked for Topcon, re field survey equipment, as mentioned depends on how much v's how many, you may want to look at an entry level Total Station, older ones are two man newer ones are 1 man and record 3d points with descriptions, so models can be made. Some have remote measure, point at object handy when can not get to point. Some can also take a photo. I mention how many as a consultant with all the gear may be a cheaper way to go. They will provide a DWG etc. Depends where you are in the world what instruments are available, 3d scanning is becoming more popular as per @SLW210 suggestion. Quote
