I realize this question has been answered in some form or another, but for some reason it still does not work for me, clearly I am missing something. I am using acad 2004, I am drawing multiple sections in model space as normal, while I also dimension in model space. I set the dimscale to 0 so it sizes properly when I scale in layout space.

I am attempting to set one viewport at 1/4"-1', and another at 3/4"=1' When I do this the viewport dimensions are completely different sizes. What am I doing wrong?

Is there a recommended procedure anywhere for dimensioning in model space, and properly reflecting this in paper space? Any help would be great, I have been browsing the internet for hours trying to find an answer.

Thanks

I think that prior to the introduction of annotative scaling the recommended procedure was to draw your objects in model space but dimension them in paper space. I recall there is a way around this dilemma using multiple dimension styles keyed to the scale of the various viewports one would normally use.
