hemal Posted April 28 Posted April 28 I tried a lot. But I could not succeed to draw L shaped ribs shown in the model. I drew big solid and L shaped rib. Then did union. But could not fillet later. I also tried fillet first. But could not subtract Lshaped rib from the big solid. Kindly help me. Quote
CyberAngel Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Have you tried to create the lower surface first, then add an array of rib objects across it? Quote
ReMark Posted April 28 Posted April 28 Every now and then a question such as this comes up that makes me wish I still had access to full AutoCAD... but I don't anymore. One option would be to create the bulk of the object in a 3D solid. As for the ribs I would create, off to one side, the side profile of one rib and extrude it. I would move this to the location of the first rib then create the remaining ribs using the 3D Array command. Finally, I would subtract all the ribs from the main body. That should give you the desired result you are looking for. Quote

Download the FREE Autodesk DWG TrueView | DWG Viewer. Then you can convert newer version .dwg to older version yourself. Quote
lrm Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Here's one method similar to @hemal both side Use section to create the green section cut as shown below. Set the UCS to the plane of the setion. Offset to both sides of the section and trim shape. Note, offsetting to both sides ensures that the resulting solids will penetrate the surface and not be just flush with it. Convert to polyline. Extrude. 6. Array 7. Subtract. Quote
hemal Posted May 2 Author Posted May 2 Thank you @irm.Your method works perfrctly fine. I did it accordingly, and perfectly done. Once again Thank you very much. Quote
