When trying to globally scale down a block with an attribute in a drawing with block editor, the text will not scale down.

Thoughts?

Nope, came out in '08, but he states 2009LT.

Maybe Attsync will work... not sure if it's a command in LT

Find out what the text style for the attribute is, then go to edit that text style, is there a default height given? If there is then change it to 0.0.

Try scaling the block again and it should work correctly.

Actually forget that, it should scale regardless.

I'll try:

TEST BLOCK.dwg

The triangle will scale down in the drawing, but not the text. In the block editor, the text shows it scaling down, but not in the drawing. I even did a save in the block editor.

Scales fine in C3D '09.

Check your Service Pack updates.

I see. Do you mean the text will not scale in the editor or the text in existing blocks will not scale?

If the former, its OK here. If the latter then see post #7 - IF LT has attsync.

The style and font are "ROMANS", height in the style editor is 0.0000.

Text scales in the editor, but not the drawing.

ATTSYNC comes up unknown command. Not uncommon with LT.

Are there service packs updates in LT? And how would I check that?

In that case, sadly it is working as designed. Just to confirm though, if you insert a new instance of the block it should be correct.

At which point, I don't know what you can do. Before ATTSYNC existed I wrote a LISP routine that remembered where all my blocks were, deleted them and purged the drawing before bringing in a complete new set to the original co-ordinates. This is of course no help to you as LT doesn't have ATTSYNC, BATTMAN or LISP.

Sorry.

Could you create a new block with the same name and attribute in a new drawing, scaled accordingly. Then copy the contents of the drawing with the old blocks into the new drawing containing the newly defined block?

Would the old ones then update to the new one?

I appreciate your effort as always. I thought I could globally change the blocks with the text. Inserting new scaled down, means inserting several hundred in a drawing. LT has it's limitations.

Just for the record, inserting the block again in the same drawing did have the text scaled down, but again, I'd have to reinsert all new blocks with new attributes.

Would the old ones then update to the new one?[/quote']not if they have attributes. You can redefine the geometry but the attributes don't get updated.

that's what I expected.

Can you just select all your blocks and apply the new scale to them through the properties palette? That is what i usually do.
