    Point Cloud Issue

Good Afternoon, I am currently drawing elevations from a point cloud clipping which was acquired by a FARO Scanner. As I am drawing the elevation from the point cloud data, the point cloud as well as the line work which has been produced, is moving side to side and shifting out of place. See this link for video of this happening: Does anyone know why this is happening and what to do to resolve this issue? Thank you in advance for your help

    Shape Recognition

Hello Everyone, I have a 3d point cloud data of human head. I have attached few markers (sphere/hemispheres) to the head before scanning the head with laser scanner. I need to find the location (xyz coordinates) of these markers. I was wondering if anyone could help in identifying these markers through shape/pattern recognition or any other technique so that I get the location of the markers, Thanks in advance. Thanks Santosh
  3. Hey everyone, it's my first post on this forum:). First of all i would explain what i am trying to achieve. I have to write a program that match an 3d solid to a cloud point which represent this object. As far as i know there is no function in AutoCAD that return the shortest distance betwen an 3d solid and point, this would help me alot (i guess so). I think i could use bounding box, make one for the object and one for points (points change to smalest shapes and use union to create one object) - this will let me make bounding box. Next i have to compare the dimensions of this boxes and fit/match them. What do you think about this solution?, any opinions and other ideas will be appreciated. Ps: I know this idea is't pretty as my english. Ps2: I'm learning Visual Lisp for a half year so excuse me if i don't understand something.

    Exploding Point Cloud

Hi All, I was wondering if it is possible to explode a point cloud in CIVIL 2011. The client would like either acad points or a block to be created from the point cloud. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Macca
