    Revit Luminaire and two switch

So I'm quite new with Revit and I still most of time I have no clue what I'm doing. But now I was wondering is it possible to add two switch to lighting? I haven't been able to do that, is it really possible?
  2. Hello everyone, I've been learning AutoLisp for the last couple of weaks and started to write some simple codes to help me in my everyday-work. But today, while writting my program I faced some trouble trying to handle 2 dwg files open at the same time in AutoCAD. I'm trying to write a lisp to copy part of my original drawing, past that to a new drawing created automatically by the program and then execute some other commands at the second drawing. After all the commands I need my original file to be active again and the second one must close. Everytime the AutoCAD executes all the commands at the first drawing instead of doing that at the second. Is there a way to "pass" the lisp routine to the second file?? How can I change the active drawing and make the lisp program to change together? I'm stucked at this. If anyone have already passed trough this trouble, please help!
  3. Greetings to all. I would like some help in how to create a switch plate dynamic block. I can draw the light switch inside block editor no problem. My Objective: To insert a single light switch plate block into a drawing and have the ability to stretch the block to increase the number of switches from 1 to as many as 10 in a gang style. The light switch box would do a basic stretch, but I just can't figure out how to increase the number of switches as the block increases in width. I hope this makes sense. Thanks
  4. Hi All, We're a consulting engineering design firm specializing in Mining. Currently we use AutoCAD 2011 but are reviewing parametric 3D design software. We have a few seats of Prosteel, Inventor and SolidWorks too. Autodesk made a presentation of Revit Structural, MEP to us last week. It was truly impressive but I was wondering what users out there have made the switch and if so, what should we look out for? We've also looked at Bentley, SolidWorks (with Structural and Plant add-ins) and are looking at Intergraph Smartplant. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thx!
  5. Hi, I learned a quick switch combination some time ago, and used it to great extent whilst creating drawings for my university projects. It's been some time since I had to work with AutoCAD however, and I've forgotten what exactly it was. What it did was the following: Let's say I have 3 plans in 1 model. I would zoom in as I liked on plan 1, and save this viewpoint as 1, zoom in on the 2nd plan, save it as viewpoint 2, zoom in on the 3rd plan, and save it as 3. Now by using the same combination but with a different first function (I can't recall what were these functions) AutoCAD automatically zoomed in on the viewpoint specified by either 1,2 or 3. I'm pretty good with the keyboard and prefer to use it instead of navigating my way with the mouse, that's why I found this method to be convenient. Has anyone used this method and remembers the combination of functions to pull it off? If so I would be thankful if you could share it. I tried to google search it, that's how I found it in the first place, but I couldn't find it anymore, unfortunately. Hope somebody can help!
  6. Hello everybody, I'm working on a drawing that has around the 150 layout-tabs. So switching between a specific Layout-tab and the Model-tab and back is very iritating. You need to scroll everytime through all the Layout-tabs to find the right one. So is there a simple and fast way to switch again and again? I'm using autocad 2009 LT Already thanks for a answer.
