I'm trying to update a few system variable in C# based on what button a user selects. I'm having some issues with the HPNAME system variable. I set the variables like this: Autodesk.AutoCAD.ApplicationServices.Application.SetSystemVariable("HPNAME", HPNAME); Autodesk.AutoCAD.ApplicationServices.Application.SetSystemVariable("HPSCALE", HPSCALE); Autodesk.AutoCAD.ApplicationServices.Application.SetSystemVariable("HPANG", HPANG); I'm trying to set HPNAME to GRASS, when I step through the code it is correctly trying to set HPNAME to GRASS however nothing happens and the system variable is never changed. When I manually change HPNAME to GRASS in the command line it works fine. The other two system variables above are correctly changing values. Are there any issues with changing HPNAME? I have tried hard coding GRASS as well to test but no success. Autodesk.AutoCAD.ApplicationServices.Application.SetSystemVariable("HPNAME", "GRASS"); Thanks,

I have been working in AutoCAD for many years and this one I have never figured out. I want 2 grips to show up with one of my blocks, how do I do that. I have a lot of blocks that I work with and a lot of them have a ton of grips that I do not want to have to deal with so I have turned grips off in blocks yet this causes another problem. I have one block that I need more then one grip to be able to use it. is it possible to have multiple grips show up in one block yet not in others?

I'm not sure why but my object snap turns itself on. This happens when new drawings load, between commands and when I go from drawing to drawing. It's the insertion snap that turns on. Also the grid snap turns itself off when new drawings load, between commands and when I go from drawing to drawing. I'm running Autocad 2014.

Evening All I have a scenario where I want to use some thing like the system variable CTAB in a field but have it report another Layout Name in the drawing rather than the Layout that I'm working in. Let me explain..... I'm producing phasing drawings for a well known supermarket and I use the Layout Tab name to drive the phasing dates within the Layout. ie P1 - Thu 23 Oct. I then use this to populate the title block etc with the system variable CTAB this saves me a whole load of time as I know the dates on the Layout tab name are correct and will therefore be right in the drawings (upwards of 25 drawings per project). I've just had a request to add some more information into the drawings but this has the date for the next phase ie P2 - Fri 24 Oct, I cant use the CTAB variable as it will report the wrong date ; Is there a way I can report another Layout Tab name with a system variable or through Diesel? How do I pull up the system variables dialog box? (also is it considered a dialog box?) I've always changed individual variables at the command line and in all honesty I didn't even know there was a Dialog box for them until I saw a picture of one on a post here. Sorry if this is a silly question, I'm a self taught CAD junkie so I'm always looking for new information Thank you in advance for the help!

Hi this is my first post and have been using AutoCAD since R14 but actually just noticed this. All layers in there are as exactly as they should be expect a few lines which are on 'LAYER 0' So I've exported the drawing by printing from DWG to PDF. I've tried freezing the Dimensions but I have to freeze 'LAYER 0' to get rid of the ticks therefore freezing my lines also. Is this a bug in the software? Or me? Because its weird way the ticks have to be different then the rest of the dimension. Afterall it would be nice to freeze the Dims with one click and it also took me a while to figure out how to freeze them. But, I always thought the ticks on dimensions belonged to the layer 'Defpoints' but when I export the PDF there is no 'Defpoints' So I exploded the dimension in AutoCAD and the tick does belong to 'LAYER 0' Is there any system Variable to change the layer of them ticks so I don't have the same problem freezing Dimensions.

Does the VIEWRES setting affect the printed resolution or only the on-screen view? I have a logo (dwg block, not raster) that tends to print fuzzy and not clear to PDF. I am not sure if it's just the PDF resolutin settings or something else... Thanks
