  1. Hello, This is my first post here. I've used AutoCAD on and off since my junior year of high school. However, now that I'm using AutoCAD every day at an internship, I figured it was time to brush up on some info, especially shortcuts to boost productivity. I'm wondering if there is a way to configure my profile so that i can input both feet and inches just with the numpad, i.e. skipping the apostrophe. Is there a way to have one of the keys on the numpad (I'm thinking asterisk) become a shortcut for feet? As of right now I'm creating floor plans for an existing house from measurements I took and inputting them into CAD, so it's lots of repetitive movement for me to reach over to asterisk every time I input a dimension. Being able to type "12*8" instead of "12'8", for example, would save me a lot of time. Thanks!
  2. Does, Anybody know how to change the default background which appears when there is no drawing open.. (refer the attached image below) I have customized(changed the resources) of some files such as dwg icons, dxf icons in autocad. The default plain-stipple patterned is very boring. i would like to change the bg, can somebody help me?
  3. Hi All, i have this customized menu for the company that i work for with all of the lisp routines that we use and i'm trying to figure out how to get the menu to load when Autocad starts like express does. any help would be appreciated. we are using 2012 & 2013. Brian
  4. Does anyone know of a way to automatically insert the arc like the picture? Is there a setting somewhere that will do this? Right now when we have a location that cannot accomodate the text we are drawing an arc and grip moving the dim text to the new location. I am trying to find a more automated way to handle these types of situations. Thanks

    .cuix association

Hi, I've just tried viewing my .cuix file in notepad to see if I could manually edit it and while doing so I inadvertantly left the 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' checkbox. I then associated it with AutoCAD, but since checking with a colleague, it seems it should be associated with an 'Unknown Program'. While AutoCAD launches with my customisation as it should be, I just wondered if this association will cause any issues in the future? Either way, I would still like to return it to it's original state, so is there any way I can do this, either through windows (no luck so far from Control Panel apps) or by using regedit? Im using AutoCADLT2011 on Windows Vista. Regards. PS. Just saw I posted this in the wrong forum. Sorry, perhaps a moderator can move it?
