How to survey a crooked house

Hi Everyone, I have to survey and draw up a set of plans for a building that has a number of walls out of square. What's the best way to do that these days. Anticipated answer 1: "I choose a wall to act as the Datum x and Y axis and then run my measurements off these." Anticipated answer 2: "I set up a couple of laser lines and work everything off these" Aniticipated answer 3: "there's some app that does it for you automatically - didnt you know"

    Daylight Subassembly Linetype

When creating an assembly with daylight lines, I use the DaylightGeneral subassembly and add a material thickness to show the depth of the material. One thing I cannot figure out is how to change the linetype of the bottom of the material. The link code for the bottom line is "Datum", so if I change that in my code set style, then it will change all of the datum links to the different linetype. Does anyone know if there is a way to change this without creating a custom subassembly? Thanks.
