Raggi_Thor Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 ok, ok, why would he try to use the command explayer in acad? was that a valid command in r12 or r14? Quote
Raggi_Thor Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Oh, forgot to mention. Using Acad 2008 (i think) at office, and R-14 at home. Boy Genious is trying (unsucessfully) to take partners into upgrading to ACAD 2010, plus his personal revisons. Don't need ten 2010 licenses if only have two employees using it. And I am confused too. Wm. didnt see this at first, always a good idea to read all posts before I answer.. Quote
ReMark Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I have no idea why he continues to make reference to EXPLAYER other than to say it appears on his monitor long enough for it to register. The whole situation is rather convoluted if you ask me. This is something that should have been straightened out a long, long time ago. Why they have let it continue for so long is beyond me. Now that they only work together maybe once a year I guess no one wants to revisit the question as to why they continue to do things in such an inefficient manner. Quote
Coosbaylumber Posted October 19, 2009 Author Posted October 19, 2009 Also see an error message pop up saying wrong Acad Menu, you want to use specialized ACAD menu or normal one? It has been showing up so often over paast few years that we ignor it now the first time we DXFIN anything. Hit the enter button a few times, walk off get some coffee and it then new drawing ought to be ready for working on. Usually by third or fourth time the file is opened up, it does so at a more normal speed. It wasn't until recently on these biggie files that the error message came on so late and stayed so long that I got a chance to read it. I think the aerial photographer firm is using a Cheapcad version in order to save a few bucks. They told me they were using Acad 2006 for file writing. Called in already. Not supposed to show up for work untill Tuesday, check came in from client but has not cleared bank yet. Overall, I do not think they are in a hurry. May be bad time to get a loan too. Wm. Quote
ReMark Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 This is where I have to throw up my hands and say I surrender. It's between your company and the aerial firm to figure out. Maybe after someone has talked to them to find out what they are really doing on their end we can revisit the subject. As of now I think we are just spinning our wheels. Good luck though. Quote
Coosbaylumber Posted October 19, 2009 Author Posted October 19, 2009 Same here. When I first see the EXPLAYERs dialogue on any new drawing, I assume to go off to counter and get a cup of coffee started, for it still will not be complete minutes later on when I return. It goes through the system, but takes near for-ever. If this aerial place stays in business (due to being the cheapest) I wish someone there would reload their output computer and get on same standard as others are now using. Watch that hard drive light blink. Wm. Quote
Raggi_Thor Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Could you post a picture of that EXPLAYERs dialogue? Quote
