Kampfzentrum Posted February 11, 2011 Author Posted February 11, 2011 I am glad you got it sorted on the mouse, but what is double-click set for on your mouse? I am using this for my mouse http://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/XMouseButtonControl.htm There has to be about 30 actions listed under Double Click in the CUI. I am not even going to mess with that. But if I can help you with something, just ask. Quote
JD Mather Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Is it me, or is AutoCAD just a bit unuser friendly? You have to remember that AutoCAD has a 25+ years of legacy. In the fast changing world of computer technology that legacy results in a bloated/unwieldy program that can't break away from the legacy without upsetting the users who have invested considerable time in learning. SolidWorks was started from a clean slate with the only legacy, "Given what we know with 20 years of CAD experience how would we do it TODAY." Autodesk realized the same thing in the MCAD world and dropped Mechanical Desktop (the AutoCAD legacy) and developed Autodesk Inventor as the replacement technology. Many were still kicking and screaming two years ago when MDT was completely ended - even though it was announced in Feb 2002 and had not seen any real functional development in all those years. All of the CAD companies are continually investigating and trying to predict what will be the "next-generation" CAD software. Not the incremental change CAD software that the masses use, but the paradigm changing software the the leading edge users adopt. http://www.deelip.com/?p=4714 "You are a startup and your job is to kill SolidWorks." No one wants to make the mistake that Pro/E made in their reluctance to port to the Windows OS years ago. SolidWorks just about put them out of business. Quote
