possible graphics card woes, shaded 3d x ref'd objects wont show in veiwport

Hi Again all

I am working with a PC that is meant for 2d drafting, they say its good enough for 12D however....

I am drawing pipework in 3d and plotting them out 2d on the paperspace.

the model xrefs were in the same folder as the drawings, however when i moved the xref files to the xref folder, then remapped the paths to the drawing, the models were only viewable in 2d wireframe.

when i did any other shade type they dissapeared.

i ended up binding the xrefs and exploding them to blocks, and now they appear and plot shaded.

could this be a graphics card issue?

I have some work coming up to do some pretty impressive industrial 3D mining cyclones and chutes, i dont want to leave a bad impression due to PC hassles.

Could still be the Graphics Card, things do wear out/go bad/have defects.

I would check _3DCONFIG and see what settings are selected. Post a screen shot here if you like.
