mvrcad
Hi Again all I am working with a PC that is meant for 2d drafting, they say its good enough for 12D however.... I am drawing pipework in 3d and plotting them out 2d on the paperspace. the model xrefs were in the same folder as the drawings, however when i moved the xref files to the xref folder, then remapped the paths to the drawing, the models were only viewable in 2d wireframe. when i did any other shade type they dissapeared. i ended up binding the xrefs and exploding them to blocks, and now they appear and plot shaded. could this be a graphics card issue? I have some work coming up to do some pretty impressive industrial 3D mining cyclones and chutes, i dont want to leave a bad impression due to PC hassles. my specs are as follows OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600 OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation Activation Status Activation Pending (30 days remaining) System Name XXXXXXXXXXXX System Manufacturer Dell Inc. f700es
Well that should be fine for 3D, it is an older graphics card but still a QuadroFX. Have you updated the graphics drivers? Here are the ones for your system... http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/cert/details?siteID=123112&catID=16303594&id=16391880&product=12&os=1&card=
SLW210
Could still be the Graphics Card, things do wear out/go bad/have defects. I would check _3DCONFIG and see what settings are selected. Post a screen shot here if you like.
