I purposely avoided opening any of the files because I thought other forum members were better suited to providing a solution to the problem. I'd be willing to take a look at them but it won't happen until Wednesday. Best I can do at the moment.

We can't give you a 'solution' without fully understanding the problem first.

If you want the drawing done by someone on the Forum, you have come to the wrong place. Try posting in the Jobs section.

If you want advice on how to draw the cross sections, then at each chainage, you draw the original ground profile and also the excavated construction profile. Then you can see whether you need to excavate or fill.

But this forum is about AutoCAD and not construction techniques.

You have a sample cross section. You also have your levels (y axis) and their x axis coordinates. That is enough to make a cross section showing the existing surface (a line connecting all your natural surface levels) and the design surface (a line connecting all your finished surface levels). Just make the cross section in the same format as your sample cross section except use your levels, then add in your grades (slope gradients percents or ratios) afterwards.

Looking at your other posts it is obvious you know how to use AutoCad to some degree. You also have an example cross section.

So what is the problem? Why can you not create your cross section similar to the sample one except using your own levels? What is stopping you?

i think you are still missing the point - if you need to know how to make technical drawings that's too much for us to answer in an internet forum! also, as eldon says in post 25, we can't give much advice on construction techniques. we can help you draw what you need by helping you use AutoCAD properly. if this is not what you need, i think you should hire someone who can do the work.

Follow the advice given by eldon and Dink and you should be on your way to creating a useful cross-section. There is nothing more I could add to the conversation at this time. You are in good hands. Good luck.
