Mike_Taylor Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 We use this company here, the vecorize the drawing using there own software, then have CAD techs who have industry experience go through and sort everything onto appropriate layers, block symbols etc. Results are very solud (less layer detail than what we typically use), but its very good none the less. Obviously there is a fee involved ($143.00 Canadian for an ANSI D sized sheet). I don't know if they do anything outside of Canada, but if you are willing to pay that, it may be woth taking a look at. Quote
Titi95 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I use "PDF-DWG Inkscape" it is free and works well (on pdf vector of course) Quote
irneb Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I use "PDF-DWG Inkscape" it is free and works well (on pdf vector of course) That's actually another idea! Much like using CorelDraw / Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape can open a PDF as an editable vector file then saveas to a number of other formats. Just make sure you've got the "Better DXF Output" plugin installed else the DXF file is not directly openable by newer ACads. Same problem I ran into here: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?53155-Creating-Illustrator-Blocks-from-Images&p=361078&viewfull=1#post361078 Or have you found a direct export to DWG from Inkscape? If so could you please share a link? I can't seem to find such doing a google. Quote
Titi95 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 you are right it is in dxf format (which is the same for Autocad) Quote
