aqther Posted November 9, 2008 Author Posted November 9, 2008 My friend CAD64... I downloaded 30days trial version of ZBrush. I find it difficult to draw in scale. (Which is VERY important for me). May be my lack of knowledge in ZBrush that makes me difficult. Still I have something in mind. I thought ALL kind of models can be made in auto cad 'coz it has almost ALL the tools. ANY kind of slightest clue regarding this kinda model is very much appreciated. thanking you all. Quote
ReMark Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Can you provide an actual design element as a starter for anyone attempting to try their hand at drawing this in AutoCAD? Quote
aqther Posted November 9, 2008 Author Posted November 9, 2008 ReMark, I haven't brought my work files to my residence yet. May be tomorrow inshallah I will post that picture here Quote
Cad64 Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 ZBrush is a very different kind of program. It's not like any other 3D application you've ever used before and it takes some time to get used to the interface. One technique that works very well is to create a simple base mesh, to scale, in Max and then export as .obj format. You can then Import the obj into ZBrush and begin sculpting. Autocad doesn't deal with organic shapes very well, which makes it difficult to create models like the one you are trying to make. You said you have 3DS Max, correct? I would recomend using Max to create the model, or, build a base mesh in Max and then export it to ZBrush for scultping. Quote
aqther Posted November 9, 2008 Author Posted November 9, 2008 Cad64 thank ya very much. i will give a try again. Quote
ReMark Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 aqther: I see you list your location as "Middle East". Would it be too obtrusive of me to ask exactly where? If for some reason you would rather not divulge the information that's OK too. Just asking more out of curiosity than anything else. We have a nice mix of people from all over the world here at CT. Just the other day we had someone from Romania and from Russia join the forum. Then there are all those Aussies from down under, Sweden, Malasia, Mexico, India, etc. We've got ourselves a regular little United Nations of CAD Users here! I think that's kind of nice. Quote
aqther Posted November 9, 2008 Author Posted November 9, 2008 well, I'm basically from India. I am working in Bahrain from the last 20 months. Quote
Pocket Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 Challenges I like. Agonizing torture I don't like. Work smart, not hard and Use the right tool for the job Those are my words of wisdom. Well said I also enjoy challenges, here are a few things I did while being bored That head on the other hand is excessive. I would do a spherical object with a material of the head over it How to do it in autoCAD? I dont really know. First thing i would try is an EDGESURF with high m&n values (100ish) and scoot the points around manually until the face or something resembling comes out Thats about as tedious as it gets, good luck Quote
