Omer Saif Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Hi .. Is there any way to corrupt your CAD files so that people can't access it? regards, Quote
PotGuy Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Why would you want to do that as then you couldn't access it either? Quote
Omer Saif Posted June 27, 2013 Author Posted June 27, 2013 i have a backup. i don't others to access it .. Quote
PotGuy Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I'll e honest; I'm not sure how to, but I suppose a 'mis-timed' exit while the file is saving won't help it. Why don't you want others to access it anyway? Do you work for anyone? Quote
Omer Saif Posted June 27, 2013 Author Posted June 27, 2013 ..> actually its my work which i need to share with someone i don't trust. thats all .. nothing else Quote
Omer Saif Posted June 27, 2013 Author Posted June 27, 2013 You can repharse my question. Is there a way that others can't copy or print your shared CAD Files ? Quote
Tiger Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 If you search for 'cad lock' and such you'll find plenty of programs that claim to lock your files so that noone but you can use it. Keep in mind though, what one person can lock, another person can always crack. If I where you I'd see what the contract says about sharing files and follow that. Quote
dbroada Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 The inbuilt password protection is supposed to be an excellent way to stop people openning the file. If you use this DO NOT FORGET THE PASSWORD. Quote
dbroada Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 There's a password feature?indeed there is. Press F1 and search for password. my understanding is that you cannot do anything with the file if it has been protected and you don't have the password. Quote
PotGuy Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 While I won't be using the password feature (I do work for a company, not for myself!) it is good to know. Quote
Pablo Ferral Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 I find that the best way to corrupt my CAD files is to work on them for 36 Hrs straight and then announce loudly that I have a deadline to meet... Quote
Murph_map Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 You can repharse my question. Is there a way that others can't copy or print your shared CAD Files ? Send them a PDF version of it. They can still print but can not change it. As for lcoking it so it can't be printed the only way is to sent them a BIG paper copy of it, any screen capture will be able to make a copy and print. ReMark Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Take a picture using a Polaroid camera and send them the photo. They probably wouldn't recognize what it is they are holding. Quote

What's this thing "Polaroid" ? Oh right it's that thing I got in the back of the closet that "Walgreens" no longer has the film pacs for. Quote
Organic Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 SnapChat it to them. 7 seconds after they receive it, it self destructs (deletes itself). Quote
