RobDraw Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 This from Dwg TrueView. I am sorry but I do not see the option to explode anything I'm at a different computer that has TrueView and I'm not seeing it either. You might need a file with AEC objects in it for the option to show up. Maybe it does it automatically, now. I'm not sure. I do know that when I see the ARXERROR my first thought is that the file was not converted, it was Saved As. I have been wrong before and it has been a while since I have had to deal with that stuff. ReMark Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 Can you attach a copy of the drawing file that you are trying to work with to your next post? Thanks. Quote

I am saying that DWG TrueView cannot properly convert it. Quote
ReMark Posted June 27, 2013 Posted June 27, 2013 A copy of the drawing to experiment with can quickly end the debate. First to post a "useable" drawing, as defined by the OP, wins. Quote

Bizzarely it's one of the export file-format options! If the source file as AEC content then that drop-down will change so each version plus each version with exploded content (i.e. 2010, 2010 with exploded content, 2008, 2008 with exploded and so on) dJE Quote
TopLine Posted June 28, 2013 Author Posted June 28, 2013 I tried to upload the dwg file, but it must be too big. Quote

I thought I was going to have one of those, "What the heck was I thinking?" moments. Quote
RobDraw Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 TopLine, can you use DropBox to share the file? Quote
eldon Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 This all seems to be involved with Custom and Proxy Objects, and Object Enablers whose format seems to change with the seasons. The originator of the drawing does not want to explode everything in their drawing, but are usually unaware of the option to Export, which automatically explodes AEC Objects which then become entities and are visible to those with earlier versions. When this is done, the new drawing has a suffix of ACAD- added to the name, so there is no overwriting of the original. Quote
stevsmith Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I'm just spit balling here, but what happens if you have the file sent to you as a dxf? Quote
eldon Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I don't think that creating a DXF involves exploding the poxy Objects, so you are back at square one. Quote
