Mike_Taylor Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Nothing wrong with pencil and paper. It's what I learned on as well. Though I am not as old as you Remark I know I am younger than both of you and I learned the same way! Just remember with CAD software you can draw most of what you will need with the basics, and using your real world experience you can easily draw it as you see fit. Remember than software such as AutoCAD are simply drafting tools. Quote
ReMark Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 You want real world objects (in 3D) then you'll have to visit any one of a number of websites that cater to users who do not have the time or the skill to create them on their own. TurboSquid would be one such resource. Note: While there are some free objects the vast majority are for sale only and the file formats may not match up with the program you are using. http://www.turbosquid.com/ Quote
volking Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 @ReMark - actually, money's not an issue. Crafts and jobs around the house are sort of my "hobby" now and you know how much "hobbies" cost! ROFL ... Quote
ReMark Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Jobs around the house tend to be my part-time job. If it isn't replastering walls it's yard work. If it isn't yard work it's repointing brick. I know exactly what you mean volking. Quote
