ksperopoulos
That is what I am looking into right now. Thank you. It would be nice if it was associative to the object though. If there was some way of adding a particular type of entity to be included in the dimension association list, I could probably avoid this though. tombu
That is the only way the software can run - is on top of AutoCAD. If the problem is only with that plug-ins objects it's not an AutoCAD issue. Again "Have you asked the maker of the add-on software package for help? Do they advertise the software as being AutoCAD compatible?" I'd be pretty upset if I found out a paid for AutoCAD add-on software package wasn't compatible. They need to fix it. SLW210
You might be able to come up with something to use dimreassociate on the dimension to the object, it works in Paperspace on Modelspace objects. Not sure if it will work on the dimension created by third party software. You need to post a .dwg with one of these dimensions.
ksperopoulos
No, I have not reached out to them. The maker of the add-on software is Autodesk (as mentioned here). So if Autodesk is not compatible with Autodesk, I doubt I am going to get a refund.

I think I remember reading somewhere that dimensions lose their associations with 3D objects. Does that ring a bell with anyone?
SLW210
It may depend, but they reassociate for me, as long as a logical 2D Snap Point is used, like endpoint, midpoint, quadrant, etc.. I don't believe they can be associative if using 3D snaps.

ksperopoulos
No, because that will only give the length of one object. Most of the time, we need to dimension the length from one object to another. That is one of their own annotation tools...and all of their annotation tools suck! Thanks though. ksperopoulos
DIMLFAC adjust to suit. In your example: 20'-0" in Modelspace = 5" in Paperspace you would set DIMLFAC=48 for the dimension. If that doesn't work, post a drawing with one of these dimensions. Thank you for the suggestion! This is the method I chose to go with. It seems to work perfectly for me.
