SLW210
remove border from viewport (2008 )? There are only 2 methods to REMOVE a border from a viewport. 1.) Select viewport border and press the delete button on the keyboard. (yes, you will lose all info in modelspace that was viewable.) 2.) Select all visible objects in Model Space through the viewport and type in _CHSPACE, then select viewport border and press the delete button on the keyboard. All other solutions would be known as HIDING the viewport or making the viewport NO PLOT or NON SELECTABLE. Methods for doing this have also been discussed. Take your pick of solutions as you see fit.
irneb
Sorry, but ... do you perhaps mean you want to remove the VP's clip boundary? A VP has to have at least a rectangle, but you can get rid of the polyline clip-boundary if the VP is clipped. Use the VPClip command (or select VP & Right-click -> Viewport Clip). It should have an option of Delete if the VP was clipped already. BTW this clip-boundary could be on a separate layer from that of the VP, but it's very difficult to select it without also selecting the VP itself. There's one glitch however. It's not really a "feature", more like something which doesn't work as intended. See the attached DWG ... notice the VP on the left is on a layer VP which is set to NotPlot. The VP on the right is actually on Layer "0" which is also current, on & thawed. But the VP's "border" doesn't display at all. How to do this: Create the VP normally, VPClip it using Polygonal and simply pick all 4 points of the VP's corners, choose Close. Select it, type QSelect and filter for the Polyline. Then erase the polyline. TestVP.dwg
irneb
BTW, this is definitely NOT a recommended way of going about it. The only way to get this VP back to normal (so you can stretch it e.g.) is to use Ctrl+A (select all) and remove (Shift & cross over everything) so you end up with the "non-selectable" VP "selected" ... then you need to erase it and redo it. See why it's not recommended?
