  1. Hello! >> Can't change profile settings at the moment, but I'm using AutoCAD 2018 I'm looking for some tips and suggestions on how to go about this... As per new fire alarm drawing regulations it's required for the drawings to look something like this: And the devices are usually incrementally numbered from 1.001-1.100; 2.001-2.100 etc. (not shown in the example image). The addresses should have a text frame with a darker shade of the hatch color, as shown. I have tried this: For the addresses I used a layer with object color Red, to make the frame Red for example. Then I manually selected the text and in the Text editor I changed the text to Black. This kinda works, but is tedious to do this manually with hundreds of addresses, and when using Numinc the text color changes to Red automatically. I could perhaps use another layer for just the frame and background mask, but as far as I know it can't automatically change size depending on the text content, which would be great. Otherwise I'd have to resize every frame to make it look proper. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to make these two work together? Or perhaps a different approach all together? Thanks, and have a nice weekend!
  2. Hello everyone, I have to draw an adjustable frame (automatic) with a lisp code. The idea is simple (so I think)....I have a fixed point x, y (0, 900) where I need to insert the frame, but the frame must follow my last vertical line of color 8 I've attached a DWG file detailing my requests. I remain deeply grateful for any suggestion of code or income support.... My request.dwg
  3. I am currently attempting to draw shop drawing of a frame storefront in autocad, the problem I am running into is the frame is 10' tall, when I put the 10' into the line command in the model window it exceeds the window and I can not view the line. Everything I have read says to build my drawing 1:1 first before setting it to the 1/2"= 1' scale specified for the shop drawings. Anyone sure where I should start to resolve this issue?
  4. Hi Everyone, I am new to AutoCAD and have just finished using AutoCAD Plant 3D to model a basic plant for my 4th year chemical engineering design project. However, every shape I have drawn has a white outline around all the edges. Is there a way to remove this so I can take a screenshot for my report. Thanks, Luke
  5. Hi, I am looking for a way to automatically draw a rectangular/square frame around a block (in this case, a block of a profile) and also set the base point in the middle of the profile block. I have to use xline together with rectangle to do this, then draw a diagonal and use the midpoint of the diagonal each time. It would be great to know if there is a way to automate the process. I do understand that I can find the diagonal of the frame using LIST yet i can see no way to apply this into the routine. Thank you very much. Regards, Nicolas.

    BMX Frame Help

Hello all, I'm drawing a bmx frame from scratch using Inventor but I'm having trouble finding the right specs for it. What would work better is if there was a model already made that i could use. I'm drawing an electric trike compose of 3 bmx frames framed together. Thanks!
