  1. Autocad LT doesn't seem to recongnize the NVIDIA QUADRO 600. I've updated the NVIDIA drivers and the AUTOCAD performance driver. I've reinstalled Autocad. Nothing seems to help. I can put hardware-acceleration on, but it doesn't seem to do much (see below!). Your help is very welcome:(, many thanks in advance:) Performance Tuner Results Log Version: Date of Last Tune: 12-5-2012 Machine Configuration --------------------- Processor Speed : 3.3 GHz RAM : 4054 MB 3D Device --------- Name : NVIDIA Quadro 600 Manufacturer : NVIDIA Chip set : Quadro 600 Memory : 2749 MB Driver : 8.17.0012.9670 Your machine contains a 3D Device that is not certified. As more graphics cards and 3D display drivers are tested, they are added to a list on the Autodesk website. You can check for updates and download the latest certification list at any time. Run the 3DCONFIG command and click the Check for Updates button. 2. Brand new to Revit. 2012 version installed fine on my Asus G51J after memory was upgraded, but can't open a new file. Error message: "An error occurred while drawing the contents of this window. This window shall be closed." And, sure enough, it was. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Same problem. Is this a graphics card problem? A previous thread recommended ditching the GeForce card the computer came with and going for an NVidia Quadro but which one?!? There are lots out there. Would rather not break the bank if I don't have to. I should probably mention that after I click OK when the first error message is displayed, the program does ask me to choose a view as but when I try to do so it pulls up a window for the view I selected then gives me the same error message and sends me back to the home page.
  3. Hi all, I recently built a machine... a pretty nice machine... got everything up and running and when I go to use autocad I find that its behaving slowly, after checking a few things I'm starting to think it may have to do with my graphics card. I have a Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 ti448 which I don't see that it's supported on the autocad website. So what does this mean? I'm completely out of luck? What are my options here?
  4. Firstly thanks for all your help on previous questions. On most occasions, when closing a dwg file with other dwg files still open, a dialog box will open saying ‘non responsive program, autocad must close’. The remaining open files losing any work on them done since I last hit save ( i thought when it opens in recovery mode the recovered files would be saved to within 10 minutes of the crashed application as that’s what the AC settings are set to). Autodesk tech support asked me to move the dwg files off the server to see if the problem persists. So far so good but its only been 2 days. And ideally the files must be on the server. (IT recently renewed the server. The problem was also there before however). Another problem I’ve had is a slow response ( 5 to 20 seconds ) when making certain commands, in particular switching between model space and paper space (even with files on the local drive). Zooming in and out also seriously labours AC (but not with all files I work with). Having also mentioned the above to Autodesk support it was suggested that we temporarily disable the security and observe the response. Something of note, I’ve clicked the performance settings tab which opens the performance tuning dialog which has the enable hardware acceleration checked. ( autocad notes that my graphics card is unknown, and to run hardware acceleration at your own risk). When I hit the ‘check for updates’ button another window opens saying ‘a newer version of the graphics card and driver database that is used for performance tuning is available’. Clicking the yes button brings up yet another window which reads “ performance tuner failed to update. Please check your network connection and make sure you have write permission to the file” Its a steep learning curve for me and may well result in realising some incorrect settings or practices I have with the program. I appreciate your input here, if you can think of anything to add. What else should I trial? Etc...
