  1. I am running CAD 2011. I have an odd issue on one particular drawing. When running certain commands, like a dimension for example, I can pick all the points and see the object but once I confirm and end the command, the object disappears. If I turn on all layers it appears. Another example is simply changing an attribute and then undo (CTRL+Z) once to change it back. I have to toggle layer states to see the changes. It seems like something is out of sync? Any ideas? Thanks, -Nobull
  2. Morning, I'm working on a block with a few variables I'm trying to synchronize. I've worked dynamic blocks in the past for mirror imaging stretches, but is there a way I could sync it so when I rotate Rotation Parameter 1 10 degrees, that Rotation Parameter 2 and Rotation Parameter 3 rotate the same 10 degrees? Thanks for the help!

    Lisp to Sync Attributes

Gents, I am looking for a lisp to sync attributes. For example block Alpha has an attribute called "LOCID" and its surrounded by blocks Beta, Charlie and Delta. All four blocks have diffrent names, attributes, and paramenters but they all have "LOCID" in common. Alpha already has a value for "LOCID" but the others do not. I would like to the lisp to sync "LOCID" for all four blocks to Alpha's value by selecting all four. Also all four may not always exist together but Alpha is always there. And there are multiple groups of Alpha & friends. Does anyone have a lisp that can do this? It is way above my experience level.

    Battman Sync...

I have about 50 dynamic blocks I place into my drawings that update using fields. They all insert at a standard dimension until I select it and edit the dynamic height. Once I save the drawing the attributes and fields update to reflect the new dynamic height, however, the attributes do not follow the objects to their new height, in order for this to happen I must use the BATTMAN Sync feature. Now here is the catch, when I place a dynamic block (Casework), enter the height and apply it to a layer, the attribute does not follow until I use the BATTMAN Sync feature, but if I simply select 'Casework' from the list the dynamic height is reset back to the blocks original state it was created. To avoid this I must select the *U## blocks from the list that represent all of the blocks I have inserted into the current drawing. The more blocks I insert into the drawing the longer the list. If I delete a block (*U500) the number is removed and the list continues from the highest number no matter if the block was deleted (*U501). What I'm looking for is a routine that would select all of the blocks within the BATTMAN menu only containing the *U## and apply the SYNC function. I have no clue if this is even possible, but this task is painstakingly tedious because the *U## given to the blocks is in no way decipherable which means you must sync each block individually until you hit the block you need -- when you have inserted 500 blocks the list is ridiculously long.
  5. Hello community! First post ever. I've been spending so much time trying to figure this one out that I kind of gave up. Now I need your help. I have 4 computers sharing tool palettes on a network. Whenever a user updates the palette with a new block, he has to export the .xtp file on the network and every other users has to reimport the palette in order to see the changes. We're in the middle of a big clean up since we just got our new Autocad 2011 license and the palettes change pretty much every day, whenever we find time to reorganize it. Is there a way to skip the export/import part when modifying a tool palette? I mean we are all using the file on the network right, so why doesn't it update on modification? At first I thought the palettes would update on startup, at least, but it seems that every single user has to export first and then import the .xtp file every morning or so. It feels like once the palette on the network has been imported, the modifications we apply on the said palette are local, as if autocad would copy the one on the network instead of running it live, which makes it harder to keep it synchronized on every machine. I'll stop my post here because I don't want to further confuse anyone. I hope the problem's clear. I hope there's a way to work around that export/import sequence and get this whole palette thing to work in sync. Thanks for reading this, any help is appreciated
  6. Hi, Recently I've gotten into this type of problem. Have an ATT "A" that is set. I can change it and it will change. But I also have an ATT "B" which works the same way as the "A". I've added a MTXT into the block so that both ATT's A and B will work together, meaning they will always be in a dead center - something like text (no matter what the string is, you can Align it Middle Center), using a FIELDS option, and parameter set to VALUE. It works when placed into the drawing, but need something that once I place the block and want to edit the VALUE, the Fields will update/sync. I'm asking for some guidance from you guys. Thank you in advance for the help. Vee A and B.dwg
