Missing in AutoCAD 2010LT

Hello everybody,

 

I'm in a bit of a snag. We have a wordker to manny, or a licence to short. I can't confince my superior to giving a full AutoCAD license (due to the cost of it), he wants to go for the light version of Cad.

 

Now is my question:

What are the missing componants in AutoCAD 2010 LT in adition to the full license?

 

I need solid points to eigther forse the boss in to a big spend or to confince one of my workers to willingly switch to the LT.

Osnap Tracking (a.k.a. - Object Snap Tracking) is not available in AutoCAD LT 2010.

There is only one type of solid in AutoCAD LT and it is a 2D fill-like feature and not what one thinks of when using the full version of AutoCAD and creating true 3D solids.

They still don't let otrack in the LT, smart but it sucks.

I believe by "solid arguments" he meant to say "a reason to tell his boss whether or not it was a good idea to purchase LT"

LT might suffice. It does for a few guys here in the office where I work. They would benefit from having Full, but honestly it doesn't hinder them THAT much for the simple tasks they do.

 

LT's not bad, for your basic CAD needs.

I´ve worked with 2004 LT last year for just under a year. After working with a full version for 4 years it realy feels like your working with your against against a ceiling. You can realy feel the limit. I was hoping 2010 worked that out of the LT versions.

Osnap Tracking (a.k.a. - Object Snap Tracking) is not available in AutoCAD LT 2010.

Got the info from a review of an AutoCAD 2010 and AutoCAD LT 2010 book review. The feature was listed as being in full AutoCAD only. I'll have to recheck that. Thanks Dipali. I stand corrected.

I checked my online source which was a reference to George Omura's Mastering AutoCAD 2010 and AutoCAD LT 2010, specifically page 103, where the ACAD only designation appears next to the section that talks about Object Snap Tracking. Maybe Dipali has caught a typo. Could the knowledgeable G.O. have made a mistake?

The guys running LT here all have it, and a few are still running LT 2008.

They all have the otrack function? you are sure it is Otrack and not Osnap?
