BlackBox Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 I think the OP was just yanking your chains. Now you can be collectively referred to as the chain gang! Interesting how the last person to join the thread refers to 'you [all]' as if by posting, Mark isn't included now... lmao Quote
Organic Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Either zoom in on each radius and check its tangential yourself or send the drawing back to wherever it came from and tell them that non tangential radii are not acceptable. Quote
ReMark Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Either zoom in on each radius and check its tangential yourself or send the drawing back to wherever it came from and tell them that non tangential radii are not acceptable. The trouble with CAD is it makes everyone look like a Michaelangelo even when they know little about the way a drawing should be constructed. Standards? We don't need no stinking standards! LOL Quote
JD Mather Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 (edited) Change the color of one entity. PE and window select to join. Do they not all change color - something is wrong. Do the all change color but will not Extrude - something is wrong. If something is wrong you might try PE in steps to isolate. or Extrude as surface if it doesn't form closed polyline chain, and you can often tell from the surface where a problem exists. If you are fairly confident of the geometry (have some leeway in tolerance) you could boundary. There is fudge factor setting. I forget the exact commands, but someone will come along and clarify. Jack_O'neill Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 If there are 10 fillets in this thing for example, after exploding the polylines into just lines and arcs, hit E, then pick the 10 fillets. 10 mouse clicks. hit the enter key. type in "multiple" then F (for fillet), then hit R and enter the radius you want. Then pick the first two lines to fillet, then the next two and so on till you've replaced all ten of them. Then pedit it back together and you are done. Fillets are too easy to put in to screw with all this analysis and examination. It's 15 keystrokes, and 30 mouse clicks, not counting the explode and pedit operations and completely eliminates the guess work (and the problem, I might add). Quote
