qball
I think what Remark was getting at was- Defpoints is somehow associated to Layer 0. If you Isolate Defpoints, it turns off Layer 0 (along with all other layers). You can see Defpoints, but not select it until you turn Layer 0 back on. Dazacad
Qball has it right, but the problem is that when you unisolate the layer it actually disappears from view altogether. I think this is the problem that Alisonn is having. Open layer manager both freeze and turn off layer 0 and also defpoints, Then unfreeze and turn them back on and do a regen. You should now be able to select the defpoints layer again. Don't know why it does this but it's happened to me many times.
laniergroup
i had this issue "invisible viewport" tried everything with layers etc... turned out if i double clicked into the viewport to make it active, then maximized the viewport the view port frame suddenly became visible and therefore i could erase it. just dumb luck. DashaB
You could try deleting defpoints layer using LAYDEL and hitting N for name. it will delete the layer and everything on it.
