It's a "Custom" width. What is preventing you from adding one for 1.2m?

Posted

^the option under the arrow head is .6,.8,.9, 1.0

1 is the maximum width........

Can't a 1.2m door width be added via the BEDIT (Block Editor) command?

Posted

You need to do this in the block editor. I have spelled out the instructions along with visual aid in the posts previous.

I haven't a clue what you are trying to do, it is already added. What else are you wanting?

I just answered my own question by adding a new width to the Door Elevation - Imperial dynamic block using the BEDIT command. Works like a charm.

In BEDIT...

If you click on the Width this will open up the Horizontal Constraint Parameter. Change the value opposite the word "Expression" and then move your cursor back into the drawing area and the door width should change. Save your changes and exit the Block Editor. Back in your drawing click on the dynamic door block and in the Block Reference window, under the Width drop-down, should be your new value.

I just did it using the metric dynamic door elevation block and all I did was change the expression to 1200. Works like a charm.

Wouldn't you want to use 2100 not 2.1?

Posted

I am really frustrated I did the same ,added 1200

then close block....

save changes to block then..again it is not showing 1200....

I do believe I was able to recreate your problem. I opened a new template which just happened to have be in imperial units then inserted the Metric - Door Elevation. I think you are not using a metric template.

The default door widths included in the metric version of the Door Elevation dynamic block should be 600, 700, 750, 800, 900 and 1000. Look at the width indicated in the last image you posted. To me that says "imperial" not metric. Don't you agree?

Update

I have just verified that the issue can be resolved by using a metric template. I was able to successfully add a door width of 1200 to the default values I previously listed.

The file you posted is Imperial. Use the Metric Door and set the width options as shown above.

This was post #14, I guess I should have added to use a metric template as well.

Before jumping into dynamic blocks, maybe you should work a little more on drawing set ups, Insertion Units, Drawing Units, etc. and creating custom templates. There are several tutorials covering all of this in the tutorials section of CADTutor.

Yikes! I missed that SLW210. Did not mean to step on the Big Green man's toes!

No toes stepped on.

I was reminding the OP that all of this has been gone through. OP is trying to fly a Leer jet without learning to fly a Cessna, seems to me.

I did the sample I posted in a Metric Template, what happened to that?

MemberX: AutoCAD does have a handful of metric templates available when you start a NEW drawing. For example, there is one called Tutorial-mArch.dwt (the "m" signifies it is metric) which I believe is an A1 sheet size. If you need other sheet sizes just for practice I know that forum member NukeCAD has, in the past, made these available just for the asking.

Or visit this link and go to post #14.

I am not trying to flying.I'm not impatient person.I have to finish it on times . that's it .......

I have drawn in metrics only...

It shows 1200,width and h=2100 in bedit but this is not actually working in model...All dimensions changes even if i have saved it in block.
