but the fact that their box runs away from your cursor has a distinctive "attack" look about it.

 

This is standard Firefox behaviour of the status bar, [i assume] it is to enable you to move the bar to the opposite side of the screen if it is obscuring something on screen.

Which box do you mean - can you show us a screen-grab?

I know its been some time but its slow again so I had time to grab a screen shot.

As Lee mentioned, this is just standard Firefox functionality. The text moves to the right of the browser window if you mouseover.

 

Happened a couple of times today (Friday) to me too.

 

That's disappointing as I was told the problem is solved - obviously it's not :x

No problem. Since I too am using FireFox I guess I now know the answer. Would I be better off switching to Chrome? I hate IE.
