So what fonts are in use out there in the world?

And I'm not looking for your personal favorits (that would fit a different part of this forum :)) but the fonts that your clients want, that your company has as standards - the official ones. If you have more than one official - you can select more than one answer.

If yours is not in the list - then tell me which one you use!

Thanks on behalf of the FAQ-team :)

We use RomanS the most followed by GDT, TXT, SIMPLEX and RomanC.

we used to use Helvetica, as a hang-up from our Mac days.

Nowadays, it is mostly Arial.

Where did you get that font?

It is a TrueType font that is available in AutoCAD. There is also a cityblueprint font.

And so it is...neat. I will have to play with that a bit.

I like romans, but for simbols script fonts are not that good. So for text with a lot of symbols I use true type fonts like arial

Garamond and Century Schoolbook for serif fonts; Copperplate Gothic for sans-serif

3-91.shx-for all keynotes and 95% of text on construction drawings

Garmond-for sheet numbers and Client and Project name

Book Antiqua-for viewport titles

and last but not least

Felix Titling-for all design text

We use to use archquik but it was very loopy and wide then Arial but that mad a 3mb file for our general notes (3 pages so 9mb in just notes) so we printed our notes with almost every .shx font there was and that how we ended up with the oddly named 3-91.shx. We have only changed our font 6 times since I have been here. To bad I have only been here almost 3 years....

I don't know if I can post a font here so I will post it if a moderator says it's ok. I don't want to step into a copyright issue.
