  1. Using AutoCAD 2015 I received a drawing file that has a block and doesn’t show. The layer name of the block is thawed. I quick-select the layer name to check its presence in the drawing, the grip of the block appears, but the primary vector lines of the block itself are invisible. I supposed that the vector lines inside the block are frozen if different layer names were applied to those lines, but my layer manager shows all layers thawed. I invoked the block editor, searched the block name and launched the block session. Sure enough, the primary lines are there showing the drawn item, having the same name as the block layer name. I exited the block session without saving and wondering why the primary vector lines of the block are invisible. It’s only a block, it’s not an x-ref. How could this be?
  2. Hi, I have a complex drawing (155 layers) of a site, and although I can see all layers in paper space layouts, in model space I can only see the ones I exported as pdf's. I've turned all layers on (hence why I can see them in paper space) but they are still invisible in model space. I need to alter the drawing so this is proving very annoying!!
  3. Hi, is any way to get command line status by programming in visual lisp? I.e. finding whether command line is: on (visible) or off (invisible) floating or docked (fixed) I appreciate any help.
  4. I have master drawings for a client's building. Ever since I've started with this company these particular drawings have been very quirky and annoying. At least 1/3 of the furniture blocks have this invisible box associated with it. The box is typically as large as the building. The annoying part comes in when I try to select one item but end up selecting this invisible box for another item. I've check all my layers and dug around in the blocks to find the source of the block to no avail. The only resolution I've found is to replace each block with a new one. If the drawing was smaller and/or not a master I might do it. Unfortunately who has time to remaster an entire building. (There is another designer in my firm that has this problem too with her drawing but with a totally different client.) Has this happened to anyone? Any suggestions?
  5. I have some (single box)tables in my drawings that are referencing measurements on my drawing (Insert field:Object:Measurement). Sometimes I have a formula (ie. =measurement+.250) When I initially enter the text/formula, everything works great. When I go to edit (change what dimension I'm referencing, or modify the formula), the text is invisible. I can highlight where the text/formula is, but I can not see what the text says. If I save and reload AutoCAD, the text is there, until I change it, and then again, it disappears if I want to again modify the text. This is driving me nuts when I need to make multiple edits...ideas? Using AutoCAD Mechanical 2011 and Windows 7
