RGB to ACI colour, can I automatically convert RGB objects to autocad colours?
GMaracchioni posted a topic in AutoCAD LT
Hello there, I have a file (probably exported from rhino, not sure about that though) where all objects have rgb colour properties to them. White lines are RGB 255, 255, 255, which makes them look fine in model space, though they look white on white in paper space. I would like to convert those objects to WHITE, so that I can set a print profile that would make them print black if that makes sense? At the moment I can only select the objects one by one, which is nearly impossible as the drawing is quite big. I tried to use quickselct, which kind of worked, though it did not allow me to select objects belonging to blocks (of which there are plenty, unfortunately!). Thanks a lot for any help! G- 15 replies

Plotting with Color Book's Color to Monochrome or Grayscale
toxicsquall posted a topic in AutoCAD Drawing Management & Output
I'm trying to plot one of my drawings to grayscale or monochrome style, but my lines and 3d polylines are colored with a color from a color book. When I try to plot, it will plot with the real color, even if I chose the Monochrome or Grayscale plot style. What can I do? (╥﹏╥)- 5 replies

Block-based multileader has weird color behavior
Tataboutlamine posted a topic in AutoCAD 2D Drafting, Object Properties & Interface
Hi. I'm trying to create a block-based multileader style in ACAD 2014 LT, but I'm running in a weird color behavior issue. below is the block used as the base as seen in block editor : The issue arise with the hatch. I've been using a version without a hatch for a long time without any issues ever, but I would like to have hatch so that I don't have to trim overlapping lines or add boundaries to background hatches, which make any kind of afterthought modifications a pain. In model space, everything seems fine : But when seen in paper space, the hatch suddenly takes the layer color (in this case, blue). It's the same wether the multileader is copied directly on the paper or viewed through a viewport. Why is this happening and is there a workaround? I can't use a wipeout because for some reason, I can't do an ellipsoid wipeout and you can't make an ellipse with polyline arcs. Thank you -
Hello I am quite new to 3D autocad and have a problem with disappearing materials on the surface of my 3D models. I spend hours adding materials and colour to my drawings using the 'ctrl' select option on the surface of 3D objects, but when I save the drawing and go back to it another time the materials seem to disappear. This wouldn't be a problem if the drawing weren't so large, but it is a pain in the ass to keep repeating the same process which takes and long time. Thank you

I'm having an issue with viewports in a drawing not displaying the color of the objects in model space. All of the objects are set to display bylayer, and all of the viewport overrides in the drawing are off. Still, the objects will only display as either white or grey through the viewport, even though the colors show up fine in model space. I've also tried making a new viewport and it also displays everything as either white or gray, so I'm thinking it might be some kind of system variable that I don't know about. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

changing all nested blocks' color to bylayer
NoelStalker posted a topic in AutoLISP, Visual LISP & DCL
Hello helpful people. I'm looking for a routine to reference edit every block in my drawing and change the color of everything to "bylayer". I can make a script easily enough that will chprop all color to bylayer but that won't touch things inside blocks. What do you do when you encounter this problem? Thanks in advance! -
changing all colors in drawing regardless of layer, block
NoelStalker posted a topic in AutoCAD 2D Drafting, Object Properties & Interface
I want to change the color of everything in my drawing except for 3 layers. There are hundreds of layers and blocks in this drawing, even after purging. I want to avoid just exploding everything and putting it on one layer. I want to change everything to grey except for the 3 layers I'm working in. I'm using ACAD LT so I can't create a script to do the job. The only thing I can think of is going into the layer properties window and selecting each layer and changing the color one at a time. I'm wondering if there's a better way of doing this. Any help is appreciated!
