  1. i like the float toolbar which will automatic show up in refedit instead of the contextual ribbon, but how can i like the toolbar to the refedit command just as the old classic userinterface?
  2. My Ribbon used to have different appearance. Now it is smaller with less options. How can I return to previous appearance. I tried ribbonclose, ribbonload but they didn't help.
  3. Hi, My Layout tab in the ribbon has vanished and I have no idea how to reinstate it. Firstly, I noticed that it used to reside at the far right of the tabs, next to 'Extras', so I dragged it to the left in a convenient location and more what I was used to from AutoCAD 2014. However, I had to do this everytime I launched CAD so decided to try doing something in the CUI. I located the Layout tab and moved it higher up the tree hoping it would place it where I wanted but it didn't work. The next time I launched CAD the layout tab wasn't showing. I checked the CUI and it was still where I placed it. I thought about putting it back to it's original place but could not remember where that was (click image 1). Then I tried adding it to my Workspace in the CUI, this didn't work either (click image 2). At some point during all this I noticed that when I right click the ribbon to activate or deactivate which tabs are shown, the Layout tab isn't even listed and I'm sure it's a default tab despite how it's behaving (click image 3). So, can anyone help me to restore the tab or workspace to it's original state or tell me where this Layout tab originally resided in the CUI, maybe this will restore it? Failing that, can I reset the CUI to it's default state? Thanks in advance.
  4. I just upgraded to AutoCAD 2015. There is no properties panel in my home tab, not there when I right-click, not in the cui - where did it go and how can I get it back?
  5. Every time I select let's say an X-ref, the HOME tab on the ribbon changes to the External Reference tab. How do I lock the home tab from changing when selecting anything on the drawing. AutoCAD 2014 had an option to lock the home tab but I forgot. thanks,
  6. This may not be a big deal for those who know more inventor than me, but I don't know what i did, all the texts on top ribbon are missing, how can i turn them back on? thanks
  7. Hi All, I have created a menu file that contains a ribbon tab. I can load the menu and make sure the pull down and toolbars are visible, but I can't find a way using LISP to make the new ribbon tab visible. I know that I can go to the CUI manager, edit the workspace, tick the ribbon tab and save the workspace, but I need to do all this via lisp on startup. Any and all help greatly appreciated. 8. The quick acces toolbar some how ended up below the ribbon, even though the CUI states above the ribbon. How can i fix this? On some drawings it is right, but then the properties tab that used to stop below the ribbon, now runs the height of the screen
  9. I'm in AutoCAD Architecture 2010. I've lost all menubars and need to reload. I was perfectly happy with the 2010 ribbon. When I search other forums it seems the answers are all geared toward restoring the older format of menubars because people are unhappy with the 2010 ribbon. That does not apply to me. I just want to restore the default 2010 ribbon menubar. I've tried the "Menubar" command and have not found the original 2010 default menubar. Maybe it's there and I'm not figuring it out. Can someone steer me to a path to reset and re-establish the default 2010 setup? I prefer to not have to uninstall and re-install the program to get back to the default settings if I don't have to. Thanks
  10. My co-worker got on his computer today and his iLogic check box was not in the list in the User Interface tab. Couldn't figure out where it went or how one would even go about doing so. In his ribbon commands there does not appear to be any iLogic related icons. Is it possible to accidentally uninstall or disable iLogic? I read a bunch about dual monitors and it hiding but doesn't sound like that applies here, but it isn't in the list and not sure why. My computer is doing great but he can't fill out any of our iLogic forms and is freaking out. Thanks!

    2013 Ribbon clicking

A co-worker is having issues when using the ribbon tools in 2013. It seems that he has to click the tool twice to activate it. Has anyone else encountered this problem? And if so, how can we set it so he has to click the tool only once. I've searched the different variables, but none of them seem to have any effect, so far. Thanks.

    Ribbon Workspace Set UP

I have Cad 2013 and don't know how to set up the ribbon style workspace. Ihad set it up a while ago in 2011 and labeled my workspace as KPRIBBON. This workspaceis selected, but the classic CAD Is still the view now in 2013. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  13. I have recently begun the move from using the 2D drafting & design to the Civil 3D workspace in AutoCAD Civil 3D. I have been working off of Civil 3D 2010 for the past two years but didn't have the time to learn how to use all the functionality built-in to the program. Essentially I was using Civil 3D the same way I was using Land Desktop for so many years. (Tis a shameful waste of resources I know). I have recently signed on with a new company and they use Civil 3D EXTENSIVELY (Civil 3D 2012). I have purchased the Mastering Civil 3D 2012 textbook and am currently in the process of getting current with the technology. Here is where my problem begins... I have my laptop workstation from my previous job which is running Win XP-32b with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 installed. This is the one I have been using as an approximation of LDC 09' the past 2 years. I am now using the new company's desktop with Win 7-64b running Civil 3D 2012. As I am learning the new functionality on the desktop with C3D 2012 I have been trying to do the same on the laptop running C3D 2010, which has been a mostly painless undertaking since the two versions are practically identical. (Now for the problem) Today I was doing some exercises on the C3D 2012 computer using the ribbon buttons to draw lines by bearing, add labels, etc. I then wanted to see how similar the process was on my laptop running C3D 2010. I opened C3D and switched myself over to the Civil 3D workspace. Immediately I noticed that while everything was practically identical across the two versions, there were boxes with missing icons on the ribbon. If I clicked the box with the blank icon it would give me the appropriate menu as on C3D 2012 but when I would click the button no command was initiated. I also noticed that while the transparent commands toolbar was present in C3D 2010 it only was showing a single icon as opposed to the two dozen or so icons on the C3D 2012 version. I am not exactly sure what is going on with C3D 2010 and the missing/non-functioning button icons so any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. I have attached a few screenshots from both the C3D 2012 computer and the ailing C3D 2010 computer. Desktop running C3D 2012 (Flawlessly) Laptop running C3D 2010 (Missing/Non-Functioning Icons) I apologize in advance if this topic has been addressed before. I tried to search for similar posts on the forums before I posted this but didn't have much success with the search tool.
  14. I want to write my own hatch command. (AutoCAD 2011) In that, I want user to create the hatch manually and then process the hatch object created by the user in my command. Manually, when you type hatch command at the command prompt: "When the ribbon is active, the Hatch Creation contextual tab is displayed. When the ribbon is off, the Hatch and Gradient dialog box is displayed." (from Acad help). However the (command "hatch") statement does not activate the contextual tab even when the ribbon is active. I have tested all combinations with -hatch, -bhatch, cmddia and PAUSE, but without success. Is this 'incomplete' work by AutoCAD Development team? Is there a way to activate the contextual tab using Lisp after (command "xxx") statement? I have searched the forum but could not find anything related. Please help.
  15. Hi everybody, as you can see, AutoCAD sometimes grays out true items in Ribbon or Toolbars (e.g. undo, redo, ...) when the associated commands are not allowed. Is there a way to control this ability via lisp? Note: As documented, I know it is not possible. but I am searching some ways discovered by intelligent programmers of the forum (like Lee).
  16. How can I add a palette to ribbon?
  17. What is the symbol for Toolbar menus in menucmd:unsure:? As I remember, there was no toolbar menu when the function established, and even now there is no extensions about toolbar menus, palettes and ribbons:?. Is there any other way to manipulate toolbars visibility through AutoLISP? Any help is appreciated.
  18. Hello All, I have a co-workers machine that freezes durring startup. He is running Acad ME 2010 and everything starts up correct until it get to " _RIBBON" in the command line. After that it just freezed and stops starting up. When I go into task manager it says its "not responding" I have tried to uninstall and reinstall Acad twice to no avail. Any ideas?

    Adding to ribbon

I am currently running AutoCAD Map 3D 2010. Is there any way to add new tabs to the ribbon? Such as mesh modeling... My version runs pretty much the same as regular AutoCAD 2010, just with different features, so if there is a way the work in that one it might work in mine. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
